About Jambay Lhakhang and Festival.

This is one of the 108 temples in built by the Tibetan king Songsten Gampo on the same day as Paro kichu Lhakhang. The temple host guru Joyo Jampa,the future Buddha as its main statue. One of the most sacred festivals of Jambay Lhakhang Drup takes place here every year. The ceremony of fertility blessing is central to the annual Jambay Lhakhang Drub, the most popular relegious festival in Bumthang. It takes place every year, in October or November, at Jambay Lhakhang, one of the oldest and most sacred Buddhist temples in Bhutan. Infertile women who wish to conceive come from different parts of the country to get blessed at the ceremony. The main monk or lama at the ceremony, wearing an interesting mask, prays to the fertility gods and deities, and blesses the women with a symbolic wooden phallus to make them fruitful in the coming year.

YOUR TOUR ITENARY.
Day 1: Arrive Paro International Airport.
Receive by Tashi Gongphel Tours representatives. Check into your hotel. After tea visit: Kichu Lhakhang (temple) and Drugyel Dzong.

Day 2: Paro.
Hike to Tiger's Nest Monastery and hike back (3 hours round trip). Lunch at the Taktsang Cafeteria. Hike back to Paro valley. Visit the National Museum. In the evening, stroll through Paro town.

Day 3: Paro - Punakha.
After an early breakfast drive to Punakha. En route stop at Dochula Pass (10,000ft. for a cup of tea or coffee and enjoy a spectacular view of the Himalayan mountains.

Day 4: Punakha - Trongsa.
Drive to Trongsa. Visit Chendebji Chorten on the way.

Day 5: Trongsa-Bumthang.
Before you drives to Bumthang visit Trongsa Dzong and Ta Dzong. Then drive to Bumthang through lush forests.

Day 6: Attain Jambay Lhakhang Festival

Day 8: Excursion to Ura Valley.
Day excursion to Ura valley and explore Ura village and drive to Bumthang in the evening. Day

9: Bumthang - Wangdiphodrang.
Drive to Wangdue with stop at Chendebji for lunch. Continue drive to Wangduephodrang and on the way stop for pictures when you come across a good spot and scenery

Day 10: Wangdiphodrang - Paro via Thimphu.
Drive to Thimphu. After lunch visit the Textile Museum, Takin Reserve Zoo and some handicraft shops. In the evening, drive to Paro.

Day 11: Departure
Drive to airport for departure.
